Eric Mooney’s was born in Ventura county. His success in life is largely doe to his grandparents Henry and Dorothy Mooney who were granted legal guardianship of Eric. His Grandparent wanted to provide a better way of life for him. So in 1980 in a desperate attempt to keep him away from the gangs, drugs and violence of the streets. they enrolled him in his first Martial Arts class in 1981 when he was only 7 years old. In just a mater of a few weeks the discipline he was exposed to began to transform him. Unfortunately the crime rate continued to increase so they relocated to northern Idaho to escape the decay of the area. The move from the inner city to the country didn’t stop his training, it catapulted it into full gear. He found a Martial Arts instructor in an adjacent town and quickly continued his training. In his late teens he began cross training in various Martial Arts systems form the surrounding cities, Kick Boxing, Aikido, Boxing, Karate, Jiu-Jitsu and Kenpo. He felt a patriotic calling and joined the Army. The Army was a perfect fit and he excelled becoming an elate Army Ranger. In 2003 he went to war in Iraq. Now 26 years later He has become an internationally recognized expert in reality based self-defense, personal protection, and combat martial arts instruction. Instructor Eric Mooney he has appeared in numerous publications and television shows for his accomplishments in his field. Throughout his dedicated teaching career Instructor Eric Mooney has won and medaled in countless international and national competitive championships. He remains steadfast and deeply committed to teaching the highest quality of reality based martial arts in a manner that is unmatched physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. However nothing he has accomplished in his life can compare to his love for his beautiful wife and son.
